DON’T BE FOOLED.

DON’T BE FOOLED.

In the early 1570s, France’s King Charles IX adopted the Gregorian dating system and sent out orders around his kingdom to change the New Year’s Day from April 1 to January 1. The more obstinate crowd, refused to accept the new calendar and continued to celebrate the New Year on April 1.These folks were labelled as ‘fools’ by the general populace. It is common knowledge in Europe that this change in the dating system, says Wilson, “is where we get April Fool’s Day”. The claim that this tradition originates from the event of Christians victory over Muslims in Andalusian Spain is false & a myth. The myth proposes that Europeans made fool of Muslims by introducing Liquor & Tobacco to them and thus gradually weaken them through its indulgence.

Being truthful means speaking the truth and also saying things that reflect reality. It is one of the necessities of a human society, one of the virtues of human behavior, and brings great benefits, whilst lying is one of the major elements of corruption in human society, and the cause of the destruction of social structure and ties, one of the most evil features of bad conduct, and causes widespread harm. Hence Islam commands truthfulness & forbids lying.

“O you who believe! Be afraid of Allaah, and be with those who are true (in word and deeds).” [9:119]

Ibn Katheer (rh) said: “It means: be truthful and adhere to truthfulness, and you will be among its people and will be saved from calamity, and this will make a way out for you from your problems.”

“… if they had been true to Allaah, it would have been better for them.” [47:21]

The Messenger (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: ‘Woe to the one who lies to make people laugh, woe to him , woe to him. In al-Saheehayn (al-Bukhari & Muslim) ‘Abd-Allah ibn Mas’ood (radiallahuanihu) : The Messenger of Allah (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “I urge you to be truthful, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man will continue to be truthful and seek to speak the truth until he is recorded with Allah as speaker of truth (siddeeq). And beware of lying, for lying leads to immorality and immorality leads to Hell; a man will continue to tell lies until he is recorded with Allah as a liar.” And it was narrated that ‘Abd-Allah ibn Mas’ood also said: Lying is not appropriate whether in earnest or in jest.Hence immorality and righteousness are diametrically opposed.

Al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (rh) said: “I memorized from the Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam): ‘Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not make you doubt, for truthfulness is certainty and tranquility, whilst lying is doubt and confusion.” (al-Tirmidhi)

In the lengthy hadeeth of Abu Sufyaan describing his meeting with Heraclius, Abu Sufyaan (radiallahuanihu) said: “[Heraclius] said, ‘What does he [meaning the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam] command you to do?’ I said, ‘He says: worship Allaah alone and do not associate anything in worship with Him, and abandon that which your forefathers did. He commands us to pray, to be truthful, to be chaste and to uphold the ties of kinship.’” (Bukhaari).

Truthfulness includes being truthful towards Allaah by worshipping Him sincerely; being truthful towards one’s own soul by making it adhere to the laws of Allaah; and being truthful with people in one’s words and by keeping one’s promises, and in dealings such as buying, selling and marriage, so there should be no deceiving, cheating, falsifying or withholding of information. Thus a person should be the same on the inside and the outside. Being truthful in promises and covenants is one of the characteristics by which the believers are known. Both promises and covenants involve saying something about an issue to confirm that you will do it, especially with regard to one’s duties towards Allaah. Allaah says, praising some of His slaves :

“… and who fulfil their covenant when they make it…” [2:177], [23:8] [33:23]

As regards lying, it is highly forbidden. The most obnoxious form of lying is falsely attributing things to Allaah and His Messenger, because this involves fabrication about the religion and is an act of outrage against Allaah. Hence one of the characteristics of the Prophet is that he truthfully conveyed that which Allaah commanded him to convey. So Allaah said :

“… who does more wrong than one who invents a lie against Allaah, to lead mankind astray without knowledge. Certainly Allaah guides not the people who are zaalimoon (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)” [6:144],[11:18]. Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) also said : “Whoever lies about me deliberately, let him take his place in Hell.”  (Agreed upon). Scholars are of the view that the one who deliberately tells lies about the Prophet (saw) is a kaafir. https://islamqa.info/en/34725.

In Islam, Lying is  haram (impermissible) in all cases, expect those which are exempted by the Lawgiver, April fool’s day is not one of the exemptions. Asma’ bint Yazeed said: “The Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: ‘Lying is not permitted except in three cases: a man’s speaking to his wife to make her happy; lying at times of war; and lying in order to reconcile between people.’” (Saheeh Muslim). Ahmad narrated that Abu Bakr (radiallahuanihu) said: O people, beware of lying, for lying is contrary to faith. Saheeh. It is narrated in a saheeh report from Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqaas (radiallahuanihu) that he said: The Muslim could develop all sorts of characteristics except treachery and lying. We ask Allaah to make us sincere and truthful in word and deed.

IT’S JUST A SUNNAH 2 of 2.

IT’S JUST A SUNNAH 2 of 2.

Fellow believers, anyone who claims to FOLLOW ONLY THE QURAN WITHOUT THE SUNNAH has automatically denied the Quran because he has automatically rejected the above verses of the Quraan which command us to follow, obey the prophet. Without the preserved authentic Sunnah we will not be able to obey these verses of the Quran. The Quraan gave broad principles & instructions regarding acts of worship e.g. salah, zakah, fasting, hajj but the Sunnah explained into details the How? What? When? Who? & Where? Of all the commands of Allah. ANYONE WHO DELIBERATELY & KNOWINGLY REJECTS & OPPOSES THE AUTHENTIC SUNNAH IS NOT A MUSLIM OR IS OUT OF THE FOLD OF ISLAM. HE/SHE NEEDS TO RE-EMBRACE ISLAM  https://islamqa.info/en/227935

Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “I do not want to see any one of you reclining on his couch &, when he hears of my instructions or prohibitions, saying ‘I don’t accept it; we didn’t find any such thing in the Book of Allah.’” Abu ‘Eesaa said: (saheeh hasan Tirmidhi). Al-’Irbaad ibn Saariyah,; “the Messenger (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) led us in prayer one day, then he turned to us & exhorted us strongly . . . (he said), ‘Pay attention to my sunnah (way) & the way of the Rightly-guided Khaleefahs  after me, adhere to it & hold fast to it.’” (Abi Dawud). He (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said “None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children & all mankind” (Bukhari).

Many ignorant Muslims have no problems paying “lip service” to loving & accepting the prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam), seeking blessings on him, they in fact go extra mile to celebrate the innovations of Mawlid; in their delusion, it is not important enough to be emulated in his Sunnah to the letter. They accept him & simultaneously deny him. What a double standard! It is hypocrisy to make a distinction between the Sunnah & the Qur’an in terms of adhering to them. Anyone who rejects the authentic Sunnah of the prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) has automatically rejected the Qur’an. No wonder, all the kufr/deviant groups (Shia, Nation of Mislam, Ahmadiyyah, Modernists movements, Quraniyyun, Bahis, Agha khanis, Sufis,Ibadis etc); have a meeting  point (Denial of  the Sunnah, followed by the automatic denial of the Qur’an). Ironically, it is these same people who belittle or deny authentic Sunnah that promote innovations of mawlid & the likes.

“Verily, those who deny Allâh & His Messengers & (those who) wish to separate Allah from His Messengers (by believing in Allâh & disbelieving in His Messengers), saying: “We believe in some but reject others”: & (those who) wish to adopt a way in between. They are in truth Unbelievers; & We have prepared for Unbelievers a humiliating Punishment. To those who believe in Allah & His Messengers & make no distinction between any of the Messengers, We shall soon give their (due) rewards: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.”[4:150-153].

Today, we have lost our identity & defence against laxity; the Sunnah. We allowed ourselves to be influenced & overwhelmed by some of the 21st century Western & cultural barbarism called “Civilization”. We have inferiority complex about the Sunnah of the prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam). We are willing to allow our trousers jump above the ankle in compliance with the trendy fashion propagated by Michael Jackson or allow our pants to “sag” on the backside for the sake of 50-cent ;but, we are too shy & apologetic to allow our pants to jump above the ankle in obedience to the Quranic recommended role model Muhammad (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam). He (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said, “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.”(Abu dawud)

A young man after embracing Islam started to grow beards. A supposedly fellow Muslim, perhaps a modernist or a Sufi, said to him, “keeping beards is not an essential requirement of Islam. “The revert brother said “Keeping beard is one of the clear commands of the Prophet & who am I to judge the essentiality of the Prophet’s orders.” Allah says “…So take what the messenger assigns to you & abstain from that which he forbids you …” (59:7). A sheikh asked a Muslim, why he is not worshiping Allah. He said: Iman is in the heart, & everything he asked him, he pointed to the heart. Finally, the sheikh asked, “where is your beard?” the brother also pointed to the heart. Subhanallah! Is the beard also in the heart?

“Whoever revives an aspect of my Sunnah that is forgotten after my death, he will have a reward equivalent to that of the people who follow him, without it detracting in the least from their reward” [Tirmidhi]. The one who denies the Sahih Sunnah is a disbeliever, because he is expressing disbelief in Allah and His Messenger, and rejecting the consensus of the Muslims. Proof?  https://islamqa.info/en/115125  https://islamqa.info/en/604

Scholars have deduced from the Quran & Sunnah that For Allah to accept our deeds  3 conditions must be satisfied. (1) Tawheed Say, “I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your god is one God. So, whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord – let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone.” Q 18 :110. (2) Sincerity…Tameem Ad-Dari reported: The Messenger of Allah said “Religion is sincerity or sincere goodwill.” We said, “To whom?” The Prophet said, “To Allah, His Book, His Messenger, the leaders of the Muslims, and their common people.”. (3) Mutahaba (Total Compliance) “Certainly you have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example for him who hopes in Allah and the Last Day’, & remembers Allah much”.Q33: 21. Allah says: “He who obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah . . .” [4:80] [8:24] .”…So take what the messenger assigns to you & abstain from that which he forbids you …” (59:7).”If you do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you & forgive you your sins …” (3:31). The next time someone tells you “Don’t worry about it, it’s just a Sunnah”. Please say to him or her “I will worry about it because it’s not just a Sunnah but it is “The SUNNAH” & THE SUNNAH, THE BETTER. We need to abide by all the authentic (NOT FABRICATED) Sunnah; without picking & choosing. We cannot love & hate the Sunnah at the same time. Stop the double standard. If the label fits you, wear it.           IT’S JUST A SUNNAH 1 of 2.

IT’S JUST A SUNNAH 1 of 2.

The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “All of my ummah will enter Paradise except those who refuse.” It was said: O Messenger of Allaah, who refuses? He said: “Those who obey me will enter Paradise, and those who disobey me have refused.” قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: (كل أمتي يدخلون الجنة إلا من أبى، قيل: يا رسول الله! ومن يأبى؟ قال: من أطاعني دخل الجنة، ومن عصاني فقد أبى).

“Don’t worry about it, it’s just a Sunnah”. Does this statement sound familiar?” Anyone who says this is ignorant of the meaning of the Sunnah; which makes up more than half of Islam.  Literarily it means a “part” or “way” but in shariah; The Sunnah is the authenticated sayings, deeds & silent approvals of Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam), it is a unique part of the divine revelation & one of the primary sources of Islamic legislation. It was attributed by al-Haafiz in al-Fath (13/291) to al-Bayhaqi, and he said: With a saheeh isnaad. The importance of the Sunnah is first of all that it explains the Book of Allaah and is a commentary on it, then it adds some rulings to those in the Book of Allaah. It is the definitive explanation of the Quran & the ultimate normative practical expression of Islam. There can be no true understanding of how to implement Islam without the Sunnah. The above is the TRUE definition of Sunnah. Some incompetent so called “Muslim scholars” have confused the masses by incorrectly defining the “Sunnah” as a matter of choice, recommended but not required. The FALSE definition of Sunnah is the sayings, deeds & silent approvals of Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) which one may optionally choose to do or ABANDON Bcos it’s just a sunnah.   Is there a difference between the words “hadeeth” and “Sunnah”? https://islamqa.info/en/145520

The Prophet’s Sunnah was preserved in what is known as the hadeeth literature for the preservation of Islam in its pristine form. For hadith rejecters & belittlers of the Sunnah, tap link for mind-blowing proofs of Allah’s Preservation of the Sunnah. https://www.missionislam.com/knowledge/preservationsunnah.html https://islamqa.info/en/239540

It must be firmly established in the mind & heart of every Muslim that the Sunnah is one of the two parts of divine Revelation that were revealed to the Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam). The other part of the Revelation (Wahy) is the Qur’aan.

Allaah says: “Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only a Revelation revealed”[Q53:3-4]. Al-Miqdaam ibn Ma’di Yakrib : Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said:

“Verily I have been given the Qur’aan and something similar to it along with it. But soon there will be a time when a man will be reclining on his couch with a full stomach, and he will say, ‘You should adhere to this Qur’aan: what you find that it says is permissible, take it as permissible, and what you find it says is forbidden, take it as forbidden.’ But indeed, whatever the Messenger of Allaah forbids is like what Allaah forbids.” Al-Tirmidhi (Saheehah). This is what was understood by the righteous predecessors. Hassaan ibn ‘Atiyah said in al-Kifaayah by al-Khateeb (12): Jibreel used to bring the sunnah down to the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) as he used to bring the Qur’aan down to him. “And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad) the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’aan)], that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought” [al-Nahl 16:44].Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr said in Jaami’ Bayaan al-‘Ilm wa Fadlihi (2/190): The commentary of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) on the Qur’aan is of two types:

1 – Explaining things that are mentioned in general terms in the Qur’aan, such as the five daily prayers, their times, prostration, bowing and all other rulings.

2 – Adding rulings to the rulings of the Qur’aan, such as the prohibition on being married to a woman and to her paternal or maternal aunt at the same time. Tap links for further proofs that the sahih sunnah is revelation “wahy” from Allah & it is a primary source of Islamic legislation. See detailed proofs here http://islamqa.info/en/112268 https://islamqa.info/en/77243

Once it is established that the Sunnah is part of the divine revelation & a primary source of Islamic legislation, it is essential to note that there is only one difference between it & the Qur’aan, which is that the Qur’aan is the verbatim word of Allaah, revealed to the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam), whereas the Sunnah may not be the verbatim words of Allaah, rather it is only His Revelation, so it needs not necessarily come to us verbatim, but the meaning of it comes to us. The point in transmission of the Sunnah is to convey the meanings, not the exact same words that were uttered by the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam). Allaah preserves the words of the Qur’aan in full/verbatim, and He preserves the general meanings of the Sunnah, and that which explains the Book of Allaah, not the exact words & phrases. Proofs of Allah’s preservation of the Sunnah & Differences between the Quran & Hadith Qudsi https://www.missionislam.com/knowledge/preservationsunnah.html

The scholars of this Ummah throughout the early centuries strove to preserve the sharee’ah & the Sunnah. They have transmitted to us the words of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) as he said them, and they distinguished between the reports that were right & wrong, true & false. An example that readily comes to mind is the hadith of the housefly. “If a housefly falls in the drink of anyone of you, he should dip it (in the drink), for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure for the disease.” (Al-Bukhari). It proves the reliability & precision of the science of hadith & of Isnad that the scholars of this ummah follow to ensure preservation of authentic Sunnah. If the collection & authentication process had been based on random selection, common sense or mere affiliation to some people or scholars this hadith would have been thrown out of the window unceremoniously because it did not make sense 14 centuries ago & it seems to contradict the basic rule of hygiene on face value. However, because the authenticated hadiths of the prophet is a revelation from Allah it always made sense even before medical science came to the realization of the truth of this hadith. ”But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you [Muhammad] judge in all disputes between them, & find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, & accept (them) with full submission.” [4:65].”.”…So take what the messenger assigns to you & abstain from that which he forbids you …” (59:7).”If you do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you & forgive you your sins …” (3:31).
