IT’S JUST A SUNNAH 2 of 2.

IT’S JUST A SUNNAH 2 of 2.

“He does not speak from his desire; it is nothing except revelation revealed to him” (53:3-4).   Allah says: “He who obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah . . .” [4:80] [8:24]

”But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you [Muhammad] judge in all disputes between them, & find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, & accept (them) with full submission.” [4:65].”.”…So take what the messenger assigns to you & abstain from that which he forbids you …” (59:7).”If you do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you & forgive you your sins …” (3:31).

“. . . And let those who oppose the Messenger’s commandment beware, lest some fitnah (trial, affliction, etc.) befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them.” [24:63]

“. . . And if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah & His Messenger. [4:59]. “Certainly you have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example for him who hopes in Allah and the Last Day’, & remembers Allah much”.Q33: 21. Fellow believers, anyone who claims to FOLLOW ONLY THE QURAN WITHOUT THE SUNNAH has automatically denied the Quran because he has automatically rejected the above verses of the Quraan which command us to follow, obey the prophet. Without the preserved authentic Sunnah we will not be able to obey these verses of the Quran. The Quraan gave broad principles & instructions regarding acts of worship e.g. salah, zakah, fasting, hajj but the Sunnah explained into details the How? What? When? Who? & Where? Of all the commands of Allah. FOOD FOR THOUGHT FOR DEEP THINKERS. Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “I do not want to see any one of you reclining on his couch &, when he hears of my instructions or prohibitions, saying ‘I don’t accept it; we didn’t find any such thing in the Book of Allah.’” Abu ‘Eesaa said: (saheeh hasan Tirmidhi). Al-’Irbaad ibn Saariyah,; “the Messenger (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) led us in prayer one day, then he turned to us & exhorted us strongly . . . (he said), ‘Pay attention to my sunnah (way) & the way of the Rightly-guided Khaleefahs  after me, adhere to it & hold fast to it.’” (Abi Dawud). He (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said “None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children & all mankind” (Bukhari).

Many ignorant Muslims have no problems paying “lip service” of loving & accepting the prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam), seeking blessings on him & celebrating the innovations of Mawlid; but in their delusion, he is not important enough to be seen as a role model & emulated in his Sunnah to the letter. They accept him & simultaneously deny him. What a double standard! It is hypocrisy to make a distinction between the Sunnah & the Qur’an in terms of adhering to them. Anyone who rejects the authentic Sunnah of the prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) has automatically rejected the Qur’an. No wonder, all the kufr/deviant groups (Shia, Nation of Mislam, Ahmadiyyah, Modernists movements, Quraniyyun, Bahis, Agha khanis, Sufis,Ibadis etc); have a meeting  point (Denial of  the Sunnah, followed by the automatic denial of the Qur’an). Ironically, it is these same people who belittle or deny authentic Sunnah that promote innovations of mawlid & the likes.

“Verily, those who deny Allâh & His Messengers & (those who) wish to separate Allah from His Messengers (by believing in Allâh & disbelieving in His Messengers), saying: “We believe in some but reject others”: & (those who) wish to adopt a way in between. They are in truth Unbelievers; & We have prepared for Unbelievers a humiliating Punishment. To those who believe in Allah & His Messengers & make no distinction between any of the Messengers, We shall soon give their (due) rewards: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.”[4:150-153].

Today, we have lost our identity & defence against laxity; the Sunnah. We allowed ourselves to be influenced & overwhelmed by some of the 21st century Western & cultural barbarism called “Civilization”. We have inferiority complex about the Sunnah of the prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam). We are willing to allow our trousers jump above the ankle in compliance with the trendy fashion propagated by Michael Jackson or allow our pants to “sag” on the backside for the sake of 50-cent ;but, we are too shy & apologetic to allow our pants to jump above the ankle in obedience to the Quranic recommended role model Muhammad (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam). He (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said, “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.”(Abu dawud)

A young man after embracing Islam started to grow beards. A supposedly fellow Muslim, perhaps a modernist or a Sufi, said to him, “keeping beards is not an essential requirement of Islam. “The revert brother said “Keeping beard is one of the clear commands of the Prophet & who am I to judge the essentiality of the Prophet’s orders.” Allah says “…So take what the messenger assigns to you & abstain from that which he forbids you …” (59:7). A sheikh asked a Muslim, why he is not worshiping Allah. He said: Iman is in the heart, & everything he asked him, he pointed to the heart. Finally, the sheikh asked, “where is your beard?” the brother also pointed to the heart. Subhanallah! Is the beard also in the heart?

“Whoever revives an aspect of my Sunnah that is forgotten after my death, he will have a reward equivalent to that of the people who follow him, without it detracting in the least from their reward” [Tirmidhi]. The one who denies the Sahih Sunnah is a disbeliever, because he is expressing disbelief in Allah and His Messenger, and rejecting the consensus of the Muslims. Proof? https://islamqa.info/en/115125, https://islamqa.info/en/604

The next time someone tells you “Don’t worry about it, it’s just a Sunnah”. Please say to him or her “I will worry about it because it’s not just a Sunnah but it is “The SUNNAH”. We need to abide by all the authentic (NOT FABRICATED) Sunnah; without picking & choosing. We cannot love & hate the Sunnah at the same time. Stop the double standard. If the label fits you, wear it. IT’S JUST A SUNNAH 1 of 2.

IT’S JUST A SUNNAH 1 of 2.

“Don’t worry about it, it’s just a Sunnah”. Does this statement sound familiar?” Anyone who says this is ignorant of the meaning of Sunnah; which makes up more than half of Islam.  Literarily it means a “part” or “way” but in shariah; The Sunnah is the authenticated sayings, deeds & silent approvals of Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam), a unique part of the divine revelation & one of the primary sources of Islamic legislation. It was attributed by al-Haafiz in al-Fath (13/291) to al-Bayhaqi, and he said: With a saheeh isnaad. The importance of the Sunnah is first of all that it explains the Book of Allaah and is a commentary on it, then it adds some rulings to those in the Book of Allaah. It is the definitive explanation of the Quran & the ultimate normative practical expression of Islam. There can be no true understanding of how to implement Islam without the Sunnah. The above is the TRUE definition of Sunnah. Some incompetent so called “Muslim scholars” have confused the masses by incorrectly defining the “Sunnah” as a matter of choice, recommended but not required. The FALSE definition of Sunnah is the sayings, deeds & silent approvals of Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) which one may optionally choose to do or ABANDON Bcos it’s just a sunnah.   Is there a difference between the words “hadeeth” and “Sunnah”? https://islamqa.info/en/145520

The Prophet’s Sunnah was preserved in what is known as the hadeeth literature for the preservation of Islam in its pristine form. For hadith rejecters & belittlers of the Sunnah, tap link for mind-blowing proofs of Allah’s Preservation of the Sunnah. https://www.missionislam.com/knowledge/preservationsunnah.html https://islamqa.info/en/239540 It must be established in the mind & heart of every Muslim that the Sunnah is one of the two parts of divine Revelation that were revealed to the Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam). The other part of the Revelation (Wahy) is the Qur’aan.

Allaah says: “Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only a Revelation revealed”

[al-Najm 53:3-4]. Al-Miqdaam ibn Ma’di Yakrib (radiallahuanihu): Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said:

“Verily I have been given the Qur’aan and something similar to it along with it. But soon there will be a time when a man will be reclining on his couch with a full stomach, and he will say, ‘You should adhere to this Qur’aan: what you find that it says is permissible, take it as permissible, and what you find it says is forbidden, take it as forbidden.’ But indeed, whatever the Messenger of Allaah forbids is like what Allaah forbids.” Al-Tirmidhi (2664) hasan ghareeb & was classed as hasan by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (2870).This is what was understood by the righteous predecessors (radiallahuanihuma). Hassaan ibn ‘Atiyah said in al-Kifaayah by al-Khateeb (12): Jibreel used to bring the sunnah down to the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) as he used to bring the Qur’aan down to him. Narrated by al-Daarimi in his Sunan (588) & by al-Khateeb in al-Kifaayah (12). “And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad) the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’aan)], that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought” [al-Nahl 16:44].Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr said in Jaami’ Bayaan al-‘Ilm wa Fadlihi (2/190): The commentary of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) on the Qur’aan is of two types:

1 – Explaining things that are mentioned in general terms in the Qur’aan, such as the five daily prayers, their times, prostration, bowing and all other rulings.

2 – Adding rulings to the rulings of the Qur’aan, such as the prohibition on being married to a woman and to her paternal or maternal aunt at the same time. Tap links for further proofs that the sahih sunnah is revelation “wahy” from Allah & it is a primary source of Islamic legislation. See detailed proofs here http://islamqa.info/en/112268, https://islamqa.info/en/77243

Once it is established that the Sunnah is part of the divine revelation & a primary source of Islamic legislation, it is essential to note that there is only one difference between it & the Qur’aan, which is that the Qur’aan is the verbatim word of Allaah, revealed to the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam), whereas the Sunnah may not be the  verbatim words of Allaah, rather it is only His Revelation, so it needs not necessarily come to us verbatim, but the meaning of it comes to us. The point in transmission of the Sunnah is to convey the meanings, not the exact same words that were uttered by the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam). Allaah preserves the words of the Qur’aan in full/verbatim, and He preserves the general meanings of the Sunnah, and that which explains the Book of Allaah, not the exact words & phrases. Proofs of Allah’s preservation of the Sunnah & Differences between the Quran & Hadith Qudsi https://www.missionislam.com/knowledge/preservationsunnah.html

The scholars of this Ummah throughout the early centuries strove to preserve the sharee’ah & the Sunnah. They have transmitted to us the words of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) as he said them, and they distinguished between the reports that were right & wrong, true & false. An example that readily comes to mind is the hadith of the housefly. “If a housefly falls in the drink of anyone of you, he should dip it (in the drink), for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure for the disease.” (Al-Bukhari). It proves the reliability & precision of the science of hadith & of Isnad that the scholars of this ummah follow to ensure preservation of authentic Sunnah. If it had been based on a haphazard manner of collection & authentication or based on random selection or common sense or mere affiliation to some people or scholars this hadith would have been thrown out of the window unceremoniously because it did not make sense & it seems to contradict the basic rule of hygiene on face value. However, because the authenticated hadiths of the prophet is a revelation from Allah it always made sense even before medical science came to the realization of the truth of this hadith. MAWLID: CELEBRATION OF NOVELTY.

                                            MAWLID: CELEBRATION OF NOVELTY.
“…The most truthful speech is the Book of Allah. The best way is the way of Muhammad (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam). The worst of affairs are the novelties; every novelty (in the deen) is an innovation, every innovation is misguidance & every misguidance is in the Fire.” An-Nasaa’e. “Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours (Islam) that is not part of it, will have it rejected.”(Bukhari).
Maulud Nabbiyy (celebration of the birthday of the prophet) began 400 years after his demise by the kufaars; Fatimid Shia rulers in Egypt. It is now celebrated by many ignorant & unsuspecting Muslims throughout the world. It was never done by HIM, his COMPANIONS & the BEST GENERATIONS that followed. The so called hadith “whoever celebrates my birthday will be forgiven” is a pure FABRICATION.
Abu Qataadah al-Ansaari (radiallahuanihu): Messenger (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) was asked about fasting on Mondays & he said: “On (that day) I was born & on it Revelation came down to me.” Muslim. The prophet fasted on the day of the week he was born not fast or celebrate annually. Copy the Prophet by fasting on every day of the day of the week you were born & not celebrate paganism annually. Can I fasting on my birthday & on mawlid nabiyy? Www. Islamqa.info/en/137931
This hadith has been deliberately misinterpreted by deviants, to mean a special day called Mawlud nabbiyy in Rabiul awwal every year (to hold a procession, a feast, a festival or a special prayer etc.).No one is sure of his date of birth, but we know his date of death for sure as (12th Rabiul awwal). Are you surprised? So, celebrating mawlid is like celebrating his death. It has suddenly become an emotional act of worship & celebration by ignorant Muslims around the world. In fact, it is a public holiday in many Muslim countries directly copying the Christians holiday of Christmas (so called birthday of Jesus (as); their god). The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) ; “You would follow the ways of those who came before you step by step, to such an extent that if they were to enter a lizard’s hole, you would enter it too.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, (do you mean) the Jews and Christians?” He said, “Who else?” (Bukhari).
The sunnah of the prophet could be fihinliyyah (doing what he did) & tarkiyyah (not doing what he did not do).For instance, he observed nawafil like (tahajud & taraweeh) sometimes individually & sometimes in Jamah. He said salah in Jamah is more rewarding than individual salah. Can we conclude from all these put together that we can observe Tahiyaat-ul-masjid (2 rakah of greeting the masjid) & rawatib (nawafil before or after obligatory salah ) in jammah because the prophet did that with (tahajud /taraweeh) & because the reward of salah in jamah is greater ? No one will agree to this. Why? because the prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) never prayed them that way. Mawlid nabiyy is one of the things in the deen he never did. It is Sunnah not to do what the prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) did not do (in the deen). Therefore, it is HARAM to celebrate Maulud Nabiyy. Stay away from innovations. Stand up 4 Islam!
Worship in Islam, is defined as anything we do with the intention of getting closer to Almighty Allah or getting reward from Allah. Imam Ahmad, Sh. Ibn Tammiyah & all other great & competent scholars derived from the Islamic Sharia that : “ With regard to all acts of WORSHIP in terms of TIME, PLACE ,TYPE, NUMBER, FREQUENCY or MANNER etc. of doing them, it is based on the principle of “TAWQEEF” i.e. ALL ACTS OF WORSHIP INCLUDING (MAULUD NABIYY,DUA,DHIKR etc.) ARE FORBIDEN UNLESS SANCTIONED BY THE QURAN & AUTHENTHIC HADITH; THERE IS NO ROOM FOR OPINIONS, EMOTIONS & INNOVATIONS.THE REVERSE IS ALSO TRUE. ALL INNOVATIONS IN WORLDLY AFFAIRS ARE PERMITTED EXCEPT WHERE SPECIFICALLY PROHIBITED BY THE QURAN & AUTHENTIC SUNNAH. All innovations in the Deen are prohibited. The worst of affairs are the novelties; every novelty (in the deen) is an innovation, every innovation is misguidance & every misguidance is in the Fire.” An-Nasaa’e. This is a principle every true & sincere Muslim must memorise. There is no such self-contradictions & incompatibles like “GOOD BIDI’A” or “GOOD SHIRK” or “GOOD KUFR” in Islam . Abu Dharr (radiallahuanihu) : Messenger (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam): “There is nothing by means of which one may draw close to Paradise & move far away from Hell but it has been explained to you. (Tabarani).

THE BIRTHDAY SCRIPT :WHO WROTE IT ?

WHO WROTE THE BIRTHDAY SCRIPT?

It was a beautiful day. I got out of bed without switching off the alarm, made it to the gym, went to dinner, and enjoyed good food & company. I smiled so much that my face hurt. I was wary not to do anything that would dampen my mood. I felt compelled to uphold my high spirits. I felt pressured to do everything I could to have a memorable day; then, I did the GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY. The next day was quite the opposite. It was raining, I was sluggish & bored. It wasn’t special, so I didn’t feel obliged to make it memorable. This made me wonder: To what extent do we act and think differently on our birthdays? The way we feel about our birthdays evolves as we hit the different milestones in life. As a child, birthdays mean presents/gifts. At 18yrs; it’s legal adulthood, you can vote, sign a contract, legally purchase alcohol, tobacco & free to do every stupid thing. 21 is the big one & the game changer.

A Swiss study in the Annals of Epidemiology found that people are about 14% more likely to die on their birthdays than other days. Birthdays are stressful for older people (heart problems, strokes, suicides &accidents), Alcohol & “birthday blues”. Someone has constructed a script he wants us to follow & the birthday industry has monetized on the birthday feeling. Its pop culture, movies & cards largely tell us how we should feel on our birthday. Cake & candles are always involved. We must party & give out party favours, we must get drunk & have illicit sex on our 18th & 21st birthday, we must announce it on Face book so that friends can comment e.g. a card reads “Another birthday? Well, look in the mirror! Do you see wrinkles? Do you see grey hairs? Of course you don’t!” Inside, it reads: “Your eyesight’s gone!” We pay no heed to the fact that these are warning signs of death day & have nothing to do with birthday. The “many happy return wishes we get from our family & friends are actually false because every birthday in reality gets us closer to death; there will be lesser such returns not many.

As kids, we grow wishing we would grow up faster until a certain age when we wish life would slow down. Then, each birthday becomes dreaded. Why? — getting closer to the grave. Scary? Birthday is indeed a celebration of closeness to death & a futile attempt to ignore the reality of death. We are pressured to celebrate & feel good about ourselves. When people can’t reach that expected level of happiness & feeling of goodness, they actually become sadder, because of an unfulfilled expectation that they’re supposed to be happy; it is called — “BIRTHDAY BLUES.”  Your birthday is the same as other days. There are still 24 hours in that day & the Universal laws of Allah are still same. Birthday is of PAGAN ORIGIN & ALIEN TO ISLAM! The World Book — Childcraft International says regarding “Holidays and Birthdays,” “For thousands of years people all over the world have thought of a birthday as a very special day. Long ago, people believed that on a birthday a person could be helped by good spirits, or hurt by evil spirits. So, when a person had a birthday, friends and relatives gathered to protect him .And that’s how birthday parties began.” Why do people say, “Happy birthday!” to each other? “For the good wishes of our friends & relatives are supposed to protect us from evil spirits.”. Artemis was the goddess of the moon. The Greeks celebrated her birthday once each month by bringing special cakes to her temple. The cakes were round like a full moon. And, because the moon glows with light, the cakes were decorated with lighted candles.” The origin of the birthday candles. People the world over attach a certain magic to their actual date of birth . We may wear a ring with our birthstone in it for good luck. And when we blow out the candles on our birthday cake, we are careful to keep what we wished a secret. If we tell, of course, our wish won’t come true. We do these things mainly for fun. But it is also possible that there is something deep inside us that wants to believe.”

It is a tradition to give the birthday child pinches, smacks, spanks, thumps, bumps, or punches. Even though they may hurt a little, they are said to be very lucky & spank away any evil. Party snappers, horns, bursting balloons, firecrackers, and other noisemakers are just one more way of trying to scare off any bad-luck spirits that may be hovering about. The games we play at birthday parties are often a symbol of trying to know the unknown. e.g. “Pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey”. Birthday & all the customs & traditions connected with its observance have pagan origin & have to do with guessing the future, good wishes for the future, good luck charms against evil spirits etc. A true Muslim should never indulge in birthday celebration whether for self, children or for Prophet Muhammad, just because it seems so attractive, fun, and harmless. It turns people away from the reality of death, truths of Allah & idolizes the SELF.  SO, WHO WROTE THE BIRTHDAY SCRIPT? SHAYTAN DID! TAQLEED: THE BLIND FAITH 2 OF 2

TAQLEED: THE BLIND FAITH 2 OF 2

The Madhaiib are a pathway to learn the deen; they do not replace the deen. The 4 popular madhaaib  are named after  –: Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Muhammad ibn Idrees ash-Shaafa‘I, Imam Maalik ibn Anas, Abu Haneefah an-Nu‘maan ibn Thaabit (may Allah have mercy on them all).Other madhaaib include  al-Layth ibn Sa’d, al-Awzaa’I etc. These imams learned fiqh (jurisprudence) from the Qur’an & Sunnah. They are mujtahideen (reason based on Quran/authentic hadith available to them, to give verdicts). None of them called his students or other people to follow his verdicts blindly. Rather, they used to call people to follow the Qur’an & Sunnah, criticized those who called people to blindly follow them. They all said: “When a Hadeeth is found to be Authentic, then that is my MATH-HAB.”( An-Nawawi – Al-Majmoo’ – vol 1 pg 63).”. Imam Malik bin Anas (rh) said: “Anyone’s opinion may be accepted or rejected, except the occupant of this grave,” (the grave of the Prophet (SAW)). [al-Bidayah Wan-Nihayah, (14/160)].If our salvation is based on blindly following one of these 4 madhaaib who came after the departure of the prophet and his companions, we may well ask; what is the madhab of Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam), Abubakr, Umar, Uthman, Alli & other companions (radiallahuanihuma)? Were they hanafis or malikis or shaifiis  or hanbalis?  Did they belong to any group(s) claiming exclusivity to salvation without a sharia based proof? We may further ask the blind followers of madhaib what the madhab of the 4 Imams themselves were. Was Imam Abu Hanifah a hanafi? Was Imam Malik a Maliki? Was Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal a hanbali? Was Imam Shafii a shafii? No, they were not, they all followed the Madhab of Rasullulah (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam).

The common defence question from the blind followers of the madhaib is: does it mean that the great & real scholars of our time know more than the great & real scholars of the past & the pious imams of the madhaib of the 2nd & 3rd centuries? How dare you say the 4 imams made few mistakes here & there on certain issues or gave a few wrong religious verdicts? Yes, they made mistakes but not on purpose. “The prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said every son of Adam makes mistakes…..(Trimidhi)”.This includes all scholars & the companions of the prophets. It is ONLY the prophets of Allah that can be blindly followed because they are “Maasuum”: divinely protected from making mistake(s) in the delivery of the divine message of Islam to the people but they made mistakes in their personal lives. Tap link for proofs. Are Prophets infallible? https://islamqa.info/en/42216. Therefore, the Quran & authentic  sunnah are  always the criteria, no human being  including  the companions  of  the  prophets  should   be  blindly followed “taqleed”, rather  we should do “iithibaa” follow  their  authentic  proofs.

These imams got some rulings right and got some wrong due to the lack of access to some hadith; because hadiths were still in the process of compilation & access to hadiths were limited by long distances, primitive level of technology, unlike today where there is easy access to compilations and authentications that had been done by Muhadiths e.g. Imam Bukhari, Muslim & scholars of our time. A fresh graduate of science today is definitely  not as genius as Albert Einstein but he has more knowledge than Einstein because he has now learnt all the corrections of the errors that Einstein made and has learnt from further advancements made after the death of Einstein. “If a Muslim is following any of the rulings of these pious imams of the madhabs or a group, and he sees that the view or authentic evidence of another madhhab or scholar concerning a given matter is stronger, and he follows that, then he has done well, and that does not detract from his religious commitment or good character. There is no scholarly dispute on this point. Rather this is more in accordance with the truth and is more beloved by Allaah and His Messenger.” (Shaykh al-Islam – may Allaah have mercy on him – in al-Fataawa, 22/247).

Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) : “If a judge passes judgement based on his own ijtihaad and he is correct, he will have two rewards; if he passes judgement based on his own ijtihaad and he makes a mistake, he will have one reward.” (Bukhaari). What the sincere believer must do is to follow the truth & what is correct based on authentic & verifiable evidences in the Quran & authentic hadith & avoid blindly following groups or madhabs or scholars when he knows the truth lies elsewhere. Raf’ al-Malaam ‘an al-A’immah al-A’laam by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah. Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam): “ARROGANCE MEANS REJECTING THE TRUTH AND LOOKING DOWN ON PEOPLE.”(Muslim).

TAQLEED: THE BLIND FAITH 1 OF 2

TAQLEED: THE BLIND FAITH 1 OF 2
A lady called in on an Islamic show to ask the Maulana if it is halal to eat (lobster, crabs, and shrimps) & the fish eye. The Maulana said: it is allowed in so & so madhaaib but not in our madhab. The answer given by this Maulana is contrary to the answer in the book of Allah & the authentic hadith of His Rasool; all in the name of blindly following a madhab. The correct answer is in Qur’an 5: 96 & 16:14. Allaah says: “Lawful to you is (the pursuit of) water-game and its use for food – for the benefit of yourselves and those who travel…” [5:96]. Ibn ‘Abbaas said: “Sayduhu (lit. Hunting, pursuit) refers to whatever is taken from it alive, and ta’aamuhu (lit. its food) means whatever is taken dead.” The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) informed us that it is halaal (lawful) to eat dead creatures from the sea and no part of the fish was excluded from this permission. Hence all kinds of food from the sea are permissible, whether they are plants or animals, alive or dead See also [Q 6: 145], 5:87, 10:59, 16:116. The principle established by Islam is that the things which Allah has created & the benefits derived from them are Halal except what is prohibited explicitly in the Qur’an or the sound Hadith. Are there any types of seafood that Muslims are not permitted to eat? Tap link for more info. https://islamqa.info/en/1919.

A Muslim was asked why he does not do Raf’ al-Yadayn (raising of hands in salah) & why he does not say “Ameen” loudly after surah Al-fatiah is read aloud in salah, despite many authentic hadiths on these issues? He responded; because it is not part of the Hanafi madhab. He was asked, do you follow the madhab or you follow the prophet? He responded saying the prophet prophesized & instructed us to follow one of these 4 imams. He was asked for the proof for his claim, he became dumbfounded. Proof of saying Ameen aloud https://abdurrahman.org/2014/10/08/saying-ameen-aloud-after-reciting-fatiha-shaykh-muhammad-bazmool/. A Muslim sister was asked why she makes salah in a manner similar to doing gymnastics & why she refuses to obey the command of the rasool which mandates all women (old, young, menstruating & non to attend the Eid salah). She responded that the gymnastic salah is the salah of women according to the Hanafi madhab & the madhab prohibits attendance of eid salah by women. She added, that is part of the reason most Hanafi madhab masaajid do not have female salah facilities. We wonder who she is really following, the prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) to whom Islam was revealed or the Madhab?, dumbfounded. Proofs that the prophet commanded women to go out to the Eid prayers https://islamqa.info/en/49011

Proof that the prophet never differentiated between salah of men & women, rather he said “pray as you see me pray” https://islamqa.info/en/9276 . Another was asked about his religion, he said he is a “Salafi” not just a “Muslim”. His logic is that there are so many misguided groups today; so it is no more sufficient to say you are a muslim but there is a real need to differentiate one by adopting  this name. He quoted some of the characteristics of the saved sect in the hadith “Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr  ………..They said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allaah? He said: “(Those who follow) that which I & my companions follow, (Tirmidhi). Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam):The  best  of  people  is my generations , then those  who come  after  them , then those  after  them (1st 3 generations  of Muslims ).Bukhari. These best 3 generations in Islam are called THE SALAFU SALIHEEN; it is from these authentic hadiths that the name MANHAJ SALAFIYYAH was derived. Other authentic hadith derived synonyms of the word salafiyyah include (ahlul sunnah wa jamah, ahlul hadith, etc). These names became popular as a way of differentiating the true Islam/Muslims from the deviant groups. e.g shia, sufis, khawarij etc in the early days of Islam. Another modern day label given by enemies of Islam to Muslim individuals/groups who are striving to be upright & practice the pure & pristine Islam is “Wahabism”.This is a modern day synonym of salafiyyah, ahlul sunnah wa jamah, ahlul hadith etc. Tap links for who are the Wahhaabis & what is their message? https://islamqa.info/en/36616, https://islamqa.info/en/10867. Salafiyyah & its synonyms mean the practice of Islam following the Quran, the authentic Sunnah, according to the understanding of the salafu saliheen (devoid of innovations in religion). It is not the practice of Islam according to the understanding of group(s) called “Salafis”. It does not refer to groups called “SALAFIS” who baselessly claim superiority & exclusivity to guidance. In fact, Salafiyyah is against that. There is no doubt that the correct way to understand Islam is through this concept but not through blind following of the groups called “SALAFIS”.

Every true Muslim should be upon this Manhaj according to the authentic hadiths but not a member of group(s) called “SALAFIS”. Salafiyyah & its synonyms are a concept not a name of a group. In fact, no living persons can become a salaf because the salafs are in their graves. A Muslim does not need to call him or herself a “Salafi” in other to follow the path of salafiyyah. Come what may, we must stick to the best name Allah gave us “MUSLIM” in Quran (6:163) (39:12). Tap links for further proofs https://islamqa.info/en/90112, https://islamqa.info/en/10554. Blindly following any group, madhab, scholar, calling to exclusivity, insisting on calling oneself a salafi at the expense of the name “Muslim” all qualify as taqleed. Taqleed is also an important tool used by Christians, deviant sects/kufr groups (Shiism, Ahmadiyyah/Qadiyani, ibaadis Sufism,Bahaism, Qur’aaniyyeen, Modernist movements, Nation of Islam etc.) to indoctrinate the ignorant or the unsuspecting.
